It all started when…

Heartwood Acres was founded in late 2018 by Micah Brown, Cregg Gibson, & Lauren Gibson. After 8 months of renovating, Heartwood Acres held its first official event, and has been rockin’ & rollin’ ever since.

The founders took a chance on an opportunity of a lifetime in 2009 when their local Atlanta indie rock band started touring full-time. They began a four-year musical journey on the road together, collecting a lifetime of memories. When touring was no longer sustainable, the four re-integrated into their pre-tour careers and focused some of their creative energy on the vision for a venue where people could come together, the way they want to come together.

Having spent time on Lake Oconee for years, the group eventually found the perfect spot for a venue in the area.

Micah took the reins as sole owner in 2020, while Cregg and Lauren moved on to start their own renovation company. Micah’s mission for Heartwood Acres is to provide an awesome backdrop for all events with a simple, stress-free experience.
